Brodarica & Krapanj

Brodarica is a peaceful, pleasant place located 5 km south of Šibenik. It is ideal for family holidays and swimming at the rocky and pebble beaches. Brodarica has a great view on nine little islands that are protecting it from open sea.

There are a number of restaurants and taverns in Brodarica that are offering traditional Dalmatian specialties. The island Krapanj is only 300 m away from Brodarica. Krapanj is the smallest and lowest inhabited island in the Mediterranean,. These two places are connected by one of the shortest ferry line in the world. The main characteristics of Krapanj are traditional stone houses and numerous of small, narrow streets which average height is not over 1.5 m above sea-level. Krapanj is well known by its tradition of sponge diving and sea diving. The monastery museum holds an exhibition of sponges, corals and vintage diving gear.
The Holy Cross monastery today preserves many valuable notations and exhibits such as painting of the Last Supper and renaissance painting, the Black Madonna on the throne.
